I am a work-at-home mom, kind of. I work out of my mothers house, where I do not live. My 8 month old is extremely fussy, and wants constant attention. The work that I do requires me to make phone calls and finish by a certain time each day, so I can’t just “finish up later” Any suggestions on how to balance baby and working.
LOL Helen. I work for a small doctors office that is all electronic medical records. I have a fantastic boss who allows me to this. I call patients with abnormal lab results, and some other tasks. I’m the only person in the office who works at home. I do go in twice a week, and family members babysit. We do not have the money for a sitter on the days I am at home.

Are you a unicorn? i thought all those things were scams. If you tell me how you did it I will give you my first paycheck no lie.
Oh and as to the kid, just apply firm pressure to his buttocks in a swift manner and the behavior should subside.
I work from home as well and keep my daughter home. It’s a struggle some days but luckily for the work I do on the computer, I can work any time of day. So if she is being clingy during the day, I can hang with her and just work when my hubby gets home.
The only things I can think of is try to get him interested in some sort of activity, whether it’s toys and yes, even cartoons. At that age though, it might be easier for you to take him to a sitter while you work. I know it’s not ideal….the reason I work from home is so I can see my daughter but if you can’t get your work done, you aren’t going to have the job very long.
Good luck! ; )
I have a 10 month old so I can really relate. Have you thought about hiring a young teen to play with your baby in the next room while you work?
