they have to accept the application first so they can look it over and then see if they want to hire you.
that they may not at this time have an open position but they’ll take applications for future positions.
they are accepting people applications to look at and review but they are not hiring they may be hiring soon tho
They have to except applications. It’s just there way of saying maybe.
it means they might have an opening soon but not right now. it also can mean that if they find someone that has what they need they could possibly make a position for them.
Accepting applications is a polite way of saying you can fill out the application and we’ll put it in a drawer.
Hiring means they are needing to feel an open position
when they say hiring they are looking to hire people. to me accepting applications mean they dont really need to hire anyone right now but will keep the applications for future use just in case someone quits or until they need help etc.
hiring means just that and taking applications means hiring for in the future-to have on hand
When a place is hiring, they are actually hiring, while when a place is taking applications, they are keeping them on file for a time in the future when they will be hiring
They will take your application and keep it until there is a position available. So you won’t have to go in and put in another application when they are actually looking for someone to hire.
If they were hiring, it would mean that they have an opening otherwise; they are just taking applications.
Accepting applications means that they will take your information and keep it on file, without necessarily having a job opening right now. They would contact you in the future if your qualifications suit an opening.
Hiring means that they are actively looking for someone to fill an opening and you will have a chance if you are qualified.
They are willing to keep your application on file for future consideration…..BUT ………..they are not in need right now and are not hiring.
hiring is taking someone permenently and accepting application means like u still go to interviw or data stufff…………………..i think
C – I think you’ll get the jest of what the difference is from the previous replies so let me give you a different approach:
When you go in to iquire about a job at a place that doesn’t have a clear posting of “hiring” or “wanted… x-person,” then, don’t ask “are you hiring?” … instead ask: “do you have any open positions?” – - This forces a more specific reply and will give you an opportunity to get better information about the chances of working there and/or getting hired.
The yes or no answer puts you in the position of exploring the conversation in the direction you want it to go.
For example:
If you get just a simple “yes,” it gives you the opportunity to ask what those open positions might be and you can immediately assess if you are interested or qualified to go after any of those.
If you get a simple “no,” you can follow with the next question of “do you / will you forsee having any openings in the near future and, if so, when might it be appropriate for me to return to inquire?”
Generally:
when you see/hear “hiring” or “now hiring” – interpret this as: “we have an opening or expect to have opening(s) – for which we are looking to fill… apply if you’re interested.”
when you see/hear “accepting applications” – ask for more details. This is broad and vague – employers use this for many reasons:
Some accept applications to “be polite” and may or may not ever get looked at & possibly just tossed.
The idea here is that you should be the one proactive in the process.
